SPOR by Frederik Gustav
Maker is a part of Copenhagen Light Festival 2025, presenting SPOR —an installation by the Copenhagen-based design duo Frederik Gustav. Known for their innovative work at the intersection of design, architecture, and art, Frederik Gustav’s piece transforms light and materials into a story of connection, transformation, and time.
Inspired by the history and development of Jernbanebyen, the light installation Spor presents itself as an abstract relic. Fragments from the railway are detached from their original context and reinterpreted into new forms that both honor the past and illuminate future possibilities.
The installation consists of hand-polished polycarbonate screens, which, with their small scratches, capture and transform the light behind them into undulating formations. These formations reflect the original dynamics of Jernbanebyen, connecting the rhythms of the past with the area's transformation—a reflection of Jernbanebyen’s pulse through time.
