LAUDS - Local Accessible Urban Digital Sustainable Factories
The LAUDS Factories project envisions a future of manufacturing that is local, accessible, urban, digital, and sustainable. By establishing urban factories, 15 partners aim to scale open, digitally distributed innovations. These hubs blend sustainability, digital tools, and community engagement, redefining production for the 21st century with a focus on environmental and social responsibility.
As partners in the LAUDS Factories project, Maker is proud to support our assigned hybrid teams by offering access to our fully equipped workshop and versatile fabrication facilities in Copenhagen. In addition to tools and resources, we provide a diverse community, tailored training sessions, events, and opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing to help teams bring their ideas to life.
LAUDS Local Accessible Urban Digital Sustainable Factories is a Horizon Europe research and innovation action - Co-funded by the European Union, 2024-2026, GA 101135986

Our role
At Maker, we believe the future of manufacturing is local, accessible, and sustainable. Situated in the centre of Copenhagen, our workshop provides professionals, and businesses with the tools and facilities to innovate. As part of the LAUDS Factories initiative, we play a pivotal role in reimagining urban production, combining modern technologies like 3D printing and CNC milling with a focus on circular economy principles.
Maker is more than a workshop. We empower our members—ranging from first-time makers to seasoned professionals—to share knowledge, learn new skills, and bring their visions to life. By offering hands-on training, promoting strategic business development, and hosting public events, we make it more accessible for everyone to shape a better tomorrow.
Aligned with LAUDS, we prioritise inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation. Our diverse community fosters cross-disciplinary connections that turn global challenges into local solutions. Whether revitalising urban spaces or pioneering new industrial methods, Maker exemplifies the LAUDS vision of accessible and sustainable production.
