LAUDS FACTORIES
OPEN CALL -

2024 – 2025

The LAUDS Exploration Open Call seeks to fund and foster collaborative and co-creative partnerships between artists/creatives, technology providers, and end-users, through artistic experimentation inspired by the spirit of the New European Bauhaus.

The main objective is for hybrid teams to explore and work with LAUDS factories to enhance their usability and uptake, aligned with the wider scope, challenges and specific applicable conditions.

Below we have outlined the three challenges at Maker, focusing on mobility, energy, and agriculture.

CHALLENGES AT MAKER

  • Take on the challenge of repurposing discarded transportation components like old car parts, bicycles, and scooters. Re-imagine their purpose and transform them into innovative, functional products. With around 32,000 abandoned bikes in Copenhagen alone, there is a vast resource waiting to be utilized. Source these materials locally and repurpose them at the LAUDS Factory to redefine the future of mobility.

  • Ready to revolutionize recycling? We challenge you to design a system that transforms various materials into valuable composites, going beyond traditional methods. Imagine a machine that turns wood sawdust or other waste into durable resources. Your solution should promote circularity, sustainability, and local production. Help build a resilient, sustainable community by turning waste into valuable assets.

  • Ready to revolutionize urban sustainability and food production? Develop a solution at the LAUDS Factory that grows food using local waste streams. Create modular, vertical systems that use recycled materials and waste products to cultivate fresh food in public or private spaces. Your structure should raise sustainability awareness and address urban food insecurity, helping build resilient, self-sufficient communities.
